The objective of the CompEx Ex Awareness Award (ExA) course is to provide participants with a fundamental understanding of hazardous areas and the precautions required to work safely within them. The course introduces the basic principles of explosion protection, common ignition sources, hazardous area risks, and safe working practices.

Final Assessment: To receive the CompEx certificate, the candidate will be required to pass the assessment in the course with a score of 70% or higher. Instructions will be given in the course on where to register on the CompEx website to receive their CompEx ULN.
Certification:
Successful delegates will receive an official CompEx Certificate of Ex Awareness (e-certificate), valid for 5 years.

Upon enrolment, learners will receive up to one year of access to complete the online training and can schedule their online assessment at any time within the access period.

The CompEx Ex Awareness Award (ExA) course is intended for individuals who may enter or work within hazardous areas but are not required to carry out installation, inspection, or maintenance of explosion-protected equipment. It is particularly suitable for non-technical personnel, contractors, visitors, supervisors, logistics personnel, and support staff who need a basic understanding of hazardous area safety and the risks associated with explosive atmospheres.
Course requirements
- Candidates must have at least Basic Electrical Knowledge.
