Upcoming Public Workshop / Seminar – Virtual Training

Topic: Hazardous Area Classifications (Flammable Gases & Vapors)
Date: 22 Dec 2020
Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm , 1 Day Online Workshop
Explosive atmospheres are found in many sectors of industry including chemical plants, pharmaceutical plants, oil refineries, gas terminals and offshore production/storage. There is a greater risk of fires and explosion in these areas and the outcome are considerably more catastrophic. Therefore, hazardous area classification has become an important requirement in industry to be implemented for the purpose of protecting people, equipment and the environment.

Topic: Combustible Dust Workshop (SS 667 : 2020)
Date: 15 Oct 2021
Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm , Online Workshop
In this short course, participants will get to learn the characteristics of combustible dust , recognise the causes for dust explosions, identify combustible dust hazards in one’s own facility or plant , explain how to conduct dust hazard analysis, describe
dust hazard prevent ion and mitigation measures and apply a safety management system in one’s own facility. Learners will also comprehend the regulations and standards on combustible dust based on the newly launched standard SS 667 : 2020.

Topic: Hazardous Area Classifications – Practical Approach (GAS, VAPOUR & DUST)
Date: 28-29 March 2022
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm , Online Workshop
Hazardous Area Classifications (HAC) – Practical Approach (Gas, Vapour & Dust) was developed with the industry group to deliver competency training for the engineers/professionals whose job functions require them to prepare hazardous area classification reports and drawings in accordance to IEC 60079-10-1 (Gas & Vapour) & IEC 60079-10-2 (Combustible Dusts) standards. This workshop focuses on implementing measures to determine the extent of hazardous zones and to develop the practical experience of documentation using drawings, tables and calculations.
