Overview

This course aims to train and certify people who are keen to acquire skills in electrical equipment maintenance management. It is a WSQ-certified course (Workforce Skills Qualifications) in line with technical skill competency standard Electrical Field Maintenance Management (Level 2), code ECM-DEG-2002-1.1.

Entry Requirements

Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level / ‘N’ Level qualification or equivalent with basic electrical knowledge. Minimum 2 years related work experience

Course Syllabus

    • Carry out basic electrical maintenance activities
    • Explain the electrical power supply distribution system in Singapore covering HV and LV distribution switchgear including electrical wiring regulations, codes and standards
    • State the types of electrical field equipment and basic electrical protection systems
    • Cite the importance of proper earthing, bonding and lightning protection
    • Explain maintenance strategy such as the types of condition monitoring for electrical equipment and systems
    • Apply electrical maintenance and inspection procedures and work instructions
    • Perform maintenance on electrical equipment, motors, motor control systems and electric protection systems
    • Carry out troubleshooting on electrical equipment and systems
    • Perform inspections on Ex-rated equipment

Application Procedure

Applicants will need to complete enrolment form before the course to assess their entry suitability. If applicants do not meet the entry requirements, they will be required to submit their work experience/resume to determine their suitability. An interview may be done to assess their suitability. All applications are to be submitted online / via email at least 3 days prior to course commencing date. Successful applicants will receive the course confirmation and payment advisory email. Registration is only confirmed upon full payment of course fees.
