Overview
This course incorporates a practical component on cable glanding and terminations. Candidate must demonstrate their ability to gland & terminate various cables in given scenarios. They will be assessed on the competency of cable selections, glanding, crimping and termination.
On completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
a) Understand the legislation and directives on explosive atmospheres
b) Understand the basic principles of area classification
c) Understand the principles of the various types of explosion-protected equipment
d) Identify and interprete equipment marking
e) Apply safe work and isolation practices in hazardous areas and equipment
f) Perform cable glanding and terminations
Who Should Attend
Designed specifically for Junior Technicians, Electrician, Mechanical Personnel and anyone who are new to working in hazardous areas and who are involved in the installation of glands and termination. These also cater to candidates who require additional practical instruction in readiness for taking further CompEx units.
